In the Six Wagons story the Hansom family leaves their New York home to follow a wagon train on the Oregon Trail. Due to unforeseen circumstances they settled on a ranch owned by Gus and Sally Landers, called The Lazy-L, near Laramie. In this story, the sequel, Charlie Burton, a neighbor of the Hansoms, travels first to The Dakota Territory where he gets into trouble then moves on to join the Hansom family at Laramie, Wyoming Territory. The story is packed with adventure.
